Finance: Our Entire Economy Is In Danger
Selections and text of yesterdays George Bush Presidential Speech on the Economy:
Behold, disaster shall go forth from nation to nation …
And at that day the slain of the LORD
shall be from one end of the Earth
even to the other end of the Earth . . .
The first angel sounded:
And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood,
and they were thrown to the Earth.
And a third of the trees were burned up,
and all green grass was burned up.
And the stars of heaven fell to the Earth,
as a fig tree drops its late figs
when it is shaken by a mighty wind.
Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up,
and every mountain and island was moved out of its place
And the kings of the Earth, the great men, the rich men,
the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man,
hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains.
Political pundits immediately criticized the speech for its overly apocalyptic tone. However, Robert Paulson of MSNB News Network, said:
“When I heard, my belly trembled, my lips quivered at the voice … rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself, that I might rest in the Day of Trouble…”
