Games: Basketball Bad boys Create Award for Sportswriters

Isiah Thomas, Alan Iverson, Dennis Rodman and basketballs other “Ghetto Thugs” are putting together an awards ceremony to honor Jay Mariotti and other long-time sports writers. “The award is specifically intended for sportswriters from humble backgrounds,” said a Fritz McBean, a spokesman for the group, “who have risen frum the squalor and inarticulateness to sportswriting fame and contribution to the sports community. “Its the hours in front of the room where the computers stay, man, ” said Iverson, “While Im in my hotel, with the bitches, I think them sportswriters and I first pity but then I see the hero in him too man. That is a tough motherfucka, that people dont think about that and thats what i mean to say and he is the man that is there and he has my honor.” The surprise statement from Iverson, known for his discourteous tratement of reporters, has been turning heads. Iverson will soon be bringing out a perfume “Ghetto life” a portion of the proceeds from the cologne sales will go to donate bottles to underprivleged children, so that they too may perhaps smell like the NBA. “The kids done have nothin ” said Iverson. “Itd be everythin for them to smell like sexcess for one night.” But even in this some long-time Iverson haters see more bad-boy type of behavior. “Good riddance” said Frank Rose of Philadelphia, “may we never have to smell him around here no more.”
