Security: Surveillance Lost: If Found, Plz Return to Owner, No Questions
A recent Skype surveillance mishap as reported in the [nytimes] has led to an outpouring of support amongst the intelligence community for lost surveillance data and footage. “Some of this data is barely a few seconds old, and its out there in the real world, trying to survive, because somebody thought it might be better. But let me tell you… this is nothing but egomaniacal self interest,” Kay Hutchin-Masterson, a spokeswoman for the Missing Intelligence Fund, an organization devoted to finding lost intelligence, said on Thursday. “There is nothing nice, or good, or happy about missing, possibly exploited, intelligence. Theres a silent epidemic out there, and unless we act now, its only going to get worse.” Worldwide intelligence gathering organizations had no comment.
