Social Engineering: Giant Yellow Bananas In Gold Phallic Suits Invade New Orleans on CNN

A super duper political thriller gets merged with high-intellectual theory in an application of early twentieth century frankfurt school philosophy as the Yes Men take on the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). As detailed in an exclusively egalitarian interview, crack Salon.com Reporters discover how, to quote TFA, “two political pranksters pretended to be HUD officials — and fooled Mayor Nagin, Gov. Blanco and a crowd of contractors in New Orleans.”. File this under Reactionary. We dont see how interrupting such an august gathering of functionaries with some kind of fictional angst attack can help corner the market on xenophobia… but then, neither could Immanuel Kant. Actually we applaud the action. Our only issue is with the “Culture Jamming” aspect of the event. Isnt culture already jammed up enough as it is? Its gotten so crowded, so dense, and so packed, what we really need is a big Semi Mack Truck driven through that Culture Tube at like 100mph and clear out all this arterial culture plaque that has built up. Then, perhaps, New Orleans can truly begin to heal itself… and the Nation, with its eyes on the prize, can also begin the slow ponderous trek down that Long Road to Restitution and Rehabilitation. Or was it Perdition…
